A leading UK and European logistics provider is seeking a proactive Logistics Co ordinator to join its busy St Albans operation. This is a fast paced, varied role within a well established freight forwarding business that supports major European manufacturers and UK distributors.

Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30 One Saturday morning every six weeks, 08:30–10:30
Holidays

The Opportunity
The Logistics Co ordinator will take ownership of a key European client specialising in lift manufacturing, managing the full journey from collection in Europe through to final delivery to UK end users. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, problem solving and managing multiple moving parts within a fast paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client management — act as the main point of contact for the client and their UK subsidiaries
- End to end logistics coordination — organise collections, deliveries and project timelines across Europe and the UK
- Carrier liaison — work closely with European and UK transport partners
- KPI & stock reporting — compile accurate operational reports
- Order processing — manage orders using the company’s in house system
- Commercial negotiation — negotiate rates with carriers and the client
- Customs monitoring — ensure smooth movement of goods into and out of the EU
- Supplier identification — source additional carriers and service partners
- Cross client support — assist with other EU import/export accounts as required
Working Environment
The role is based in a modern 9,000 sq ft office in St Albans, within a profitable and long established logistics group employing over 280 staff across the UK.
Skills & Experience Required
- Logistics or supply chain experience within a manufacturer, transport company or freight forwarder
- Strong Excel skills
- Problem solving ability and confidence managing multiple tasks
- Excellent communication — written and verbal
- Commercial awareness
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Professional, positive and proactive approach
