A leading aerospace overhaul and repair facility is seeking a skilled Process Operative with experience in metal casting, automotive, aerospace or composites manufacturing or similar to join their busy Luton site. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to work in a precision-driven manufacturing environment, supporting complex aerospace operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) equipment to strict operational standards.
- Operate curing ovens using program controllers and chart recorder equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including oven charts and work pack travellers.
- Conduct regular plant and equipment checks in line with maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and manage equipment calibration requirements to ensure compliance.
- Identify and report defective equipment or tooling to supervisors.
- Take ownership of the department and surrounding areas, supporting the company’s 5S programme for organisation, cleanliness, and safety.
Candidate Profile
- Experience working in multidisciplinary or cross-functional teams.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- Enthusiastic, innovative, and proactive in delivering high-quality work.
- Competent in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word and Excel.
- Able to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to team goals.
