I am currently working with a well-established and forward-thinking main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to support their continued growth across the Midlands region.
The business delivers commercial and industrial construction projects, typically ranging from £5m to £30m+, operating under a design & build model with a strong reputation for quality and delivery.
Due to a healthy pipeline of secured and negotiated work, they are seeking a commercially astute Estimator to join their pre-construction team.
The Role
Working closely with senior commercial and pre-construction colleagues, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and employer’s requirements
- Completing take-offs and building competitive tender submissions
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Assessing risk and contributing to value engineering proposals
- Attending tender adjudications and internal bid reviews
- Supporting clarification responses and post-tender negotiations
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
- Background in commercial or industrial construction projects
- Experience pricing design & build schemes
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts
- Commercially aware with strong numerical and analytical ability
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients and supply chain
