Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer
Location: Kent / South East
Rate: £250 – £270 per day (CIS / Self-Employed) or Perm £65,000-£70,000 Per annum
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join a fast-growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering projects across Kent and the South East.
The company works with private developers, commercial clients and public sector organisations, delivering infrastructure and groundworks packages on residential developments, highways and commercial schemes.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established contractor working on housing developments, infrastructure works and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations and infrastructure
• Interpreting technical drawings and site plans
• Using Total Station / GPS equipment (Leica / Trimble)
• Checking levels, lines and dimensions on site
• Supporting site managers and groundworks teams
• Ensuring works are completed in line with design and specifications
• Maintaining accurate site records and QA documentation
• Assisting with technical problem solving on site
Project Types
You will be working on projects including:
• Residential housing developments
• Infrastructure and highway works
• Commercial developments
• Drainage and foundation packages
Groundworks typically include site preparation, drainage installation, foundations, concrete works, tarmac and external works.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer
• Groundworks or civil engineering background
• Experience setting out drainage, foundations, roads or infrastructure
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Experience using Total Station / GPS equipment
• CSCS card required
